Asking "how did today go?" in a chat gets "fine" and nothing else. I want the same few facts every evening: done, in progress, blocked, next. A form with those boxes makes everyone answer the same questions, and I can read a whole team in one scroll.
Use this when
- You manage a remote team, a crew or a shop and cannot be there at closing time.
- You want the same four things every evening.
- You read the reports in the morning and act on the flags.
Skip it when
- Something has gone wrong. Use an incident report so the facts are not buried in a routine update.
What is asked, and why
Name, date and place let you sort. The four text boxes are the heart of it: finished, in progress, blocked, plan. Hours and headcount help you plan next week. The rating gives a one-number mood, and the help question shows what stops work. The "needs a manager" box lets me filter the urgent rows first.
What a team member's AI would ask
"What did you finish today?" Then "What is blocking you?" Then "What is the plan for tomorrow?" It shows the answers and sends them only after a yes. See agent-fillable forms.

Questions
Can I get one summary for the whole team?
Download the CSV and sort by `report_date`. For a short digest, give the CSV to your own AI and ask for a morning summary. The form itself does not summarise.
Does the form remind people to fill it in?
No. The form sends no reminders. Post the link in your team chat at the same time each day, so sending it becomes a habit.
How long should the answers be?
Short. The text boxes allow long answers, but a few lines is the habit to build. Ask for names and job numbers rather than a paragraph of story.
