Stay with Google Forms if your team lives in Sheets and you want the simplest link from form to spreadsheet. Switch if you want your AI to make forms and read answers with one API key. Or if people should hand the form to their own AI. There is no Sheets sync yet.

Where Google Forms is better
- The Sheets link is built in.
- Big API quotas. No daily cap.
- Everyone knows it. It has file upload questions.
Where we fit
- The person answering can use their own AI. See agent-fillable forms.
- No account needed to answer. One plain API key. A fill connector with no sign-in.
- Signed webhooks, JSON and CSV. Every limit is public: rate limits.
If an agent builds your Google forms, note this. Google says forms made with the API after June 30, 2026 are unpublished by default. Publish before you share.
Move over
- Download your old answers. Open the linked Google Sheet. Choose File, Download, CSV. No sheet yet? In Google Forms open Responses, then Summary, and use the More menu. We cannot import them.
- List your questions. Match each to one of 11 field types.
- Make the form. Use the quickstart, or ask your AI for
create_form. Share the link. - Get answers back into Sheets. See form to Google Sheets, or add a webhook.
- Keep some forms in Google Forms. File uploads, logic, payments and the built-in Sheets link do not exist here.

Does Google Forms have an API?
Yes. The Forms API at forms.googleapis.com makes and reads forms and responses. Google lists per-minute quotas per project and no daily cap.
Is there a Google Forms MCP server?
TODO(fact): we did not find an official Google Forms MCP server in the pages we read. AI Form API has a creator MCP at /mcp and an authless fill MCP at /mcp/fill.
Is AI Form API free like Google Forms?
AI Form API has a free plan with 3 open forms and 100 responses a month. TODO(fact): Google's own page for the price of Google Forms. Google's product page does not state one.
