Orders in a notebook get lost, and the kitchen counts by hand at the start of the day. I would rather send parents one link each week. They choose days, a main dish, a side and a drink. The kitchen reads one list.
How it works
- A parent names the child, the class and the week.
- They tick the days and choose a main, a side and a drink.
- They add dietary needs and any allergies.
- They leave an email and phone for questions.
A short sample chat
A parent's AI might ask: "Which days does your child need lunch?" Then "Which main dish would they like?" Then "Does your child have any allergies?" It shows every answer and sends only after a yes. See agent-fillable forms.
Good to know
The form takes no payment, so settle fees through your school's own system. Use the CSV to count each dish per day. Browse forms for schools and forms for restaurants. Run a separate fundraiser order form for special sale days, and add a food allergy form when you need more detail on allergies.
Questions
How do I count dishes for each day?
Download the CSV, filter the order_days column by day and count main_dish. A spreadsheet pivot table gives the kitchen a total for each dish and each day.
Can parents order for a whole month?
The form works one week at a time. Share a new form each week, or ask parents to send it once per child per week and use week_starting to tell rows apart.
What happens after the cutoff?
Set close_at to the kitchen's cutoff and the form stops taking orders. For a late order, reopen the form for a short time or take it by phone.
